Happy New Year!
I'm writing this on Day 7 of the New Year and we're celebrating with our 2nd podcast episode:
"The Learning Health System Maturity Model"
This model is based on the HIMSS Analytic Maturity model. Just like it's analytical sister, we describe what is needed at each stage, starting with Foundational Systems (level 1), up through level 8 which is a fully functional Learning Health System. One of the items that became clear as we discussed this is how interconnected each level is to one another.
Meanwhile, there's already a TON going on this year:
- Parsa (Dr. Parsa Mirhaji) presented our foundational systems to the NIH on Jan 3rd to great reception. Let's see what happens next. We're pretty excited! Here's a link to the presentation in case you'd like to see it.
- NVIDIA released a $250 computer (the Jetson Nano Super) that can run 70 trillion operations per second, billion dollar parameter large language models and only consumes 25 Watts of power. We are excited about this because it allows us to run all kinds of LLMs locally with 100% security. We don't like taking healthcare data out of the provider environment.
- And finally, it's not really an event, but for better or worse, the accelerated adoption of Risk-Based Payment Models is going to make predictive models a bigger and bigger part of everyone's infrastructure. So the future is coming whether you are ready or not.
Enjoy!
